Terms of Service

Effective date: September 30, 2026
Last updated: September 30, 2026

1. Agreement to these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and CNEstate3 LLC ("TailorBudget", "we", "us") governing your use of the TailorBudget application and website (the "Service").

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information and forms part of these Terms.

2. What TailorBudget is

TailorBudget is a budgeting and personal-finance tracking tool. It helps you:

TailorBudget is a software tool, not a financial institution. We are not a bank, broker-dealer, investment adviser, money transmitter, lender, or tax preparer. We do not hold, move, transfer, invest, or have custody of your money. Connecting a bank account gives TailorBudget the ability to read transaction information only; it does not give us the ability to move funds.

3. Eligibility and your account

3.1 Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to create a TailorBudget account. Our registration form asks for your date of birth, and a signup indicating an age under 13 is rejected.

If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the Service only with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian, and a parent or legal guardian must agree to these Terms on your behalf. You may not purchase a paid subscription unless you are legally able to enter into a binding contract.

3.2 Accurate information

You agree to provide accurate information when you register and to keep it current. You may not register using someone else's identity or email address.

3.3 Account security

You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity that happens under your account. Use a strong, unique password. Tell us promptly at the contact address in Section 13 if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.

We are not responsible for losses arising from someone else using your credentials, except to the extent that loss was caused by our own failure.

3.4 One account per person

Each account is for a single person. Do not share your login. If you want another person to see your budget, use the household invitation feature described in Section 4; do not give them your password.

4. Households and shared data

TailorBudget lets you invite a partner to share a single household budget.

Before you invite someone, understand that household sharing is all-or-nothing. A person who joins your household can see all of that household's financial information, including every transaction, description, and amount, all budgets, all income streams, and which banks are connected. There are no per-item privacy controls.

There is currently no way to leave a household, remove a member, or separate a shared household back into individual accounts. Please treat a household invitation as a decision that is, for now, effectively permanent within the product. If your circumstances change and you need data separated, contact us at the address in Section 13 and we will try to help manually.

By inviting someone, you confirm you have their permission to give us their email address, and that you are authorised to share the household's financial information with them.

5. Subscriptions, billing, and cancellation

5.1 Free and Pro tiers

TailorBudget offers a free tier and a paid tier, TailorBudget Pro.

The free tier includes budgeting, manual and CSV transaction entry, the essential budget categories, a limited number of generated insights per month, and one month of budget history.

TailorBudget Pro additionally includes automatic bank connection and transaction import, an extended history window, unlimited custom categories, unlimited insights, fuller analytics, AI budgeting advice, and access to the investment signals feature.

5.2 Payment

Pro subscriptions are offered on a monthly or annual basis. Payment is taken through Stripe on a Stripe-hosted checkout page.

Your subscription is charged immediately when you complete checkout. There is no free trial period on the paid signup flow. Any complimentary trial or beta access is granted at our discretion, is not part of the standard signup, and can be ended by us at any time.

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price, until cancelled.

5.3 Cancellation

You can cancel at any time through the billing portal, which is reached from your account settings and is operated by Stripe.

When you cancel, your cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period you have already paid for. You keep Pro access until that date, and then your account moves to the free tier. We do not cut off access to a period you have already paid for, and we do not continue to provide paid features indefinitely after a subscription ends.

If a renewal payment fails, your account may retain Pro access while your card issuer and Stripe retry the payment, but only until the end of the period you have already paid for. After that point, the account moves to the free tier.

Please note that subscription status is refreshed from Stripe periodically rather than instantaneously, so a change may take a short time to appear in the app. It is refreshed immediately when you return from checkout or from the billing portal.

5.4 Cancelling versus closing your account

Closing your TailorBudget account does not automatically cancel your paid subscription. If you want to stop being billed, cancel your subscription through the billing portal before closing your account.

5.5 Refunds

Except where a refund is required by law, fees already paid are non-refundable, and cancelling partway through a billing period does not produce a partial refund, and you instead keep access for the remainder of that period.

5.6 Price changes

We may change our prices. If we do, we will give you advance notice before a change applies to your renewal, and you may cancel before it takes effect.

5.7 Promotional commitments

Where we have publicly promised a specific benefit (for example, free access at launch for people who joined the waitlist), we will honour that promise on the terms on which it was made.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

7. NOT FINANCIAL, INVESTMENT, TAX, OR LEGAL ADVICE

This Section 7 is the authoritative TailorBudget financial disclaimer. It is written to be quoted or linked in full from anywhere it is needed, including marketing pages, landing pages, the investment features in the app, and any advertising that mentions returns, performance, or outcomes. When another page refers to "the TailorBudget disclaimer," it means this section.

7.1 We are a tool, not an adviser

TailorBudget is a budgeting and financial-tracking tool. It is not a licensed financial adviser, investment adviser, broker-dealer, financial planner, accountant, tax preparer, or law firm, and it does not provide financial, investment, tax, or legal advice.

TailorBudget is not registered with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, any state securities regulator, FINRA, or any equivalent regulator in any jurisdiction. No one at TailorBudget is acting as your fiduciary, and no adviser-client, broker-client, accountant-client, or attorney-client relationship is created by your use of the Service.

7.2 Nothing in the Service is a recommendation

Nothing produced by or displayed in the Service is a recommendation, solicitation, offer, or endorsement to buy, sell, or hold any security, cryptocurrency, or other financial instrument, or to adopt any investment strategy or financial course of action. This applies to all of it, without exception, including:

Labels such as "BUY," "high conviction," "maximum conviction," or "high potential," or any similarly worded label the Service uses now or in the future, are feature names and sorting labels inside a software product. They are not investment recommendations, not ratings issued by a registered analyst, and must not be relied upon as either, regardless of how confident or urgent the label's wording sounds.

7.3 The investment features are general, not personalised

The investment signals feature analyses a fixed, predetermined list of publicly traded stocks and cryptocurrencies. The same underlying analysis is shown to every user.

If you tell us a risk tolerance, an experience level, or which sectors interest you, we use that only to re-order and filter that same general list for display purposes. Re-ordering or filtering the list based on what you tell us is not a suitability assessment, does not evaluate whether any asset is appropriate for you, and is not personalised investment advice of any kind. We do not know your full financial position, your obligations, your tax situation, or your actual objectives, and we do not assess whether any asset is appropriate for you.

7.4 Risk warnings

7.5 Accuracy of your financial information

Automatic categorisation, bank imports, and calculated totals can be wrong. Transactions may be missed, duplicated, delayed, mis-categorised, or misread. TailorBudget is not a system of record and is not a substitute for your bank statements, brokerage statements, or official tax records. Always check your actual statements before making a financial decision or filing anything with a tax authority.

7.6 You are responsible for your decisions

Any financial decision you make is yours alone, and you make it at your own risk. Before acting on anything you see in TailorBudget, you should consult a qualified, licensed professional (a financial adviser, accountant, tax professional, or lawyer) who is able to consider your individual circumstances.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, TailorBudget is not liable for any investment loss, financial loss, tax consequence, penalty, missed payment, overdraft, or other harm resulting from your reliance on the Service or anything it produces.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, accuracy, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free; that any defect will be corrected; that data imported from your bank will be complete, accurate, or delivered on time; or that any insight, calculation, categorisation, or AI output will be accurate.

TailorBudget depends on third-party services (including Plaid, Stripe, Anthropic, market-data providers, and your own financial institution) that we do not control. We are not responsible for their acts, omissions, outages, errors, or changes to their services.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:

(a) TailorBudget, CNEstate3 LLC, and their officers, members, employees, agents, and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, loss of revenue, loss of savings, loss of investment value, loss of business, loss of goodwill, or loss or corruption of data, arising out of or relating to your use of or inability to use the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages and regardless of the legal theory on which the claim is based.

(b) Our total aggregate liability for all claims arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms will not exceed the greater of (i) the total amount you actually paid us in the twelve (12) months immediately before the event giving rise to the claim, or (ii) fifty U.S. dollars (US$50.00).

(c) For clarity, and without limiting Section 7, we are not liable for investment losses, trading losses, tax liabilities or penalties, overdraft or insufficient-funds fees, missed or late payments, or any financial decision you make in reliance on the Service or on any output of the Service, including AI-generated output.

(d) These limitations apply to the fullest extent permitted by law. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, including liability for death or personal injury, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation, and nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. In those jurisdictions our liability is limited to the smallest extent permitted by law.

10. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless TailorBudget and CNEstate3 LLC from any claim, demand, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms or of any law, your infringement of anyone else's rights, or your connecting or entering financial information you were not authorised to use, including a claim brought by a household member or former household member relating to information you shared with them through the Service.

11. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, branding, and content, is owned by CNEstate3 LLC and protected by intellectual property law. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for your own personal, non-commercial budgeting purposes, subject to these Terms.

Your data remains yours. You keep ownership of the financial information and content you enter. You grant us only the licence we need to store, process, and display that information in order to operate the Service for you, as described in the Privacy Policy.

12. Termination

12.1 Termination by you

You may stop using the Service at any time, and you may close your account from within the app. Please read Section 5.4 about cancelling a paid subscription before closing your account, and the Privacy Policy section on account closure, which explains that closing your account does not currently delete all of your household's financial data.

12.2 Termination by us

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, with or without notice, if:

Where it is reasonable and lawful to do so, we will give you notice and an opportunity to fix the problem before terminating, and we will generally give notice before discontinuing the Service as a whole.

12.3 Effect of termination

On termination, your right to use the Service ends. Sections that by their nature should survive, including Sections 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 14, survive termination.

Termination of your account does not by itself entitle you to a refund, and does not by itself cancel a Stripe subscription (Section 5.4).

13. Contact

Questions about these Terms can be sent to:

[email protected]

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of [JURISDICTION TO BE DETERMINED BY COUNSEL], without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved in the courts located in [VENUE TO BE DETERMINED BY COUNSEL], and you and we consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.

15. General

Changes. We may update these Terms. We will update the "Last updated" date, and for material changes we will make a reasonable effort to notify you. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.

Entire agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service.

Severability. If any provision is held unenforceable, it will be limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions stay in effect.

No waiver. If we do not enforce a provision, that is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.

Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

Force majeure. We are not liable for failure or delay caused by events beyond our reasonable control.

Appendix: Short-form disclaimer for marketing surfaces

The following condensed version of Section 7 may be used where a full-length disclaimer will not fit (for example, on a landing page, near a testimonial, or beneath any claim about results, savings, or investment performance). It supplements and does not replace Section 7, and it must link to this page.

TailorBudget is a budgeting and tracking tool, not a licensed financial or investment adviser. Nothing in TailorBudget, including AI-generated insights, Budgee's responses, and investment signals, is financial, investment, tax, or legal advice, or a recommendation to buy or sell any security or cryptocurrency. Labels such as "BUY," "high conviction," or "maximum conviction" are product sorting labels, not analyst ratings. Investing involves risk, including total loss of the amount invested, and past performance does not guarantee future results. Individual results vary and are not typical. Always consult a qualified professional before making financial decisions. See our full Terms of Service.
